Staff Blog: Comments Semi-Working Again, New Character Battle

Written by Darryl — 04 Apr 2011

Howdy folks, I hope everyone had a rather refreshing weekend. I know some of you were getting your Dissidia on, which is awesome!

Anyway, serious business time. When the new version of launched, we had to take the comments system down on the Union websites due to the new forum software being incompatible with the old system. I know this was a massive pain for a lot of people, so we've been working hard to try and get this back working again. And working again it now is - although not quite how it previously did.

At the present time, it still won't display the number of comments next to each article on the homepage , but if you click through, you'll be able to see all the comments, and of course, be able to comment yourself (once you've signed in).

So that's the first amendment. The second, is that we're planning to have another Character Battle shortly, although it's going to be slightly different to the last one. The first one we did was a huge success - we had more than 30,000 votes! However, we want that Character Battle to stand alone, and it will likely return in the same form towards the end of the year. For this upcoming one, we want things to be a little bit more "off the wall", as to make things a little bit more interesting. We'll keep you posted more about that in the coming weeks though, so keep an eye out!

We also have some other fun things planned for the site in the near future. Hopefully we'll be in a position to talk more about that in a week's time, but given how crazily busy everything is right now, I don't want to make any promises. Rest assured, that we're cranking things over as quickly as we can though.

The image I've used for this news post is a little hint though. ;)

Peace out!
