Mobius Final Fantasy staff farewell Japanese version of the game

With the Japanese version of Mobius Final Fantasy recently coming to an end, key staff behind the game shared messages to farewell the ground breaking game that was one of very few games actually developed internally by Square Enix under the Business Divisions structure which they had across the company from 2014 to 2019.

Director Motomu Toriyama said: Thank you for supporting Mobius FF for a long time.
When I look at the warm comments from all fans, the Mobius Love feelings got conveyed, so having to really end it made me lonely.
Although Mobius was supposed to mean continuing infinitely, this feeling of gratitude is eternal. With thoughts received from everyone, I will deliver games that will remain in your minds, so I look forward to working together.

Original Project Leader Naoki Hamaguchi stated: Holding live streams like at a monthly basis from the beginning of service and exchanging opinions with all users made really enriched memories inside me.
I feel proud that the app I had poured my passion into was supported by everyone and evolved into a loved smartphone app.
Thank you very very much for supporting Mobius FF for 5 years.

And current Project Leader Takashi Shiraga said: When I tried looking back at the past 4 years & 10 months it felt like an instant, but every day was so enriched.
The battle contents - starting from the Tower - were implemented by thinking about the boss gimmicks, after that we looked at everyone playing them and unexpectedly beating them. As a developer, I enjoyed them together with everyone while having ups and downs.
Thank you very much for sticking together for a long time. And finally, please let me say this one phrase...
Mobius Love!!

Finally, Character Designer Toshiyuki Itahana shared the lovely illustration you can see above and said: “It’s time...” I hope that their story is a good memory for someone. Thank you for playing!

Many of the staff who worked on Mobius Final Fantasy previously worked on the Final Fantasy XIII series while many of them have also just worked on Final Fantasy VII Remake.

The game itself also now features a brand new region called "Developer's Room". Here you can see messages from various people who worked on the game including Toriyama, producer Yoshinori Kitase, scenario supervisor Kazushige Nojima and composer Mitsuto Suzuki.
