Naoki Yoshida's studio's new project confirmed as a large scale game for next gen

Following Square Enix's recent restructure of their internal Japanese game development studios they have updated their recruitment page for a new project from Naoki Yoshida's division.

This new project was revealed through the recruitment page for Yoshida's Business Division 5 back in 2016, and following the restructure one of the newly formed 4 Creative Business Units is of course based on Business Division 5. This one is the third one.

Yoshida states that this is the studio's next main project following Final Fantasy XIV, and will be a large scale game for the next generation of consoles which are currently rumoured to be released in 2020.

They're currently mass hiring for the project as they have been since they first revealed it.

With Square Enix's other Creative Business Units focused on other projects and franchises and already expressing desire to do other titles, it seems this project could well be Final Fantasy XVI. Yoshida has stated before he doesn't feel there should be another MMO with Final Fantasy XIV still going strong but the game could well still have a heavy online element especially given Square Enix's recent views on games as a service. But that's just speculation on my part.
