Recent releases for the Final Fantasy Trading Card Game have featured Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates cards with all new illustrations by Toshiyuki Itahana.

And they have also featured cards with all new illustrations by Itahana for Chocobos and Moogles.

Itahana is a long time artist for the Final Fantasy series, starting off as a character designer for Final Fantasy IX and art designer for Final Fantasy XI. He was then art director for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, art supervisor for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King and My Life as a Darklord while also directing Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers. And over the years he also become known for designing for the various Chocobo games.

More recently he was a DLC costumer designer for Final Fantasy XIII-2 and a character designer for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII where he designed Lumina. And he was also key art designer for Final Fantasy Explorers. Currently he's the character designer for Mobius Final Fantasy.

But of course he was also character designer for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates and over a decade later he returned to this title for the Final Fantasy Trading Card Game.

You can check out an interview he did with the Final Fantasy Portal Site here along with some of the great artwork he did.
