Recent releases for the Final Fantasy Trading Card Game have featured Final Fantasy II and Final Fantasy V cards with all new illustrations by Toshitaka Matsuda.

Matsuda is a long time artist for the Final Fantasy series. He first worked on Final Fantasy IX's field map graphics before working on Final Fantasy X-2 as concept art director. He also served as art director on Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings and Blood of Bahamut while serving as lead art designer on the Final Fantasy XIII series and a supervisor on Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster.

Currently he is the art director for Mobius Final Fantasy. Through his work on Mobius he has designed cards for the game and this led to the TCG's producer Matsuyama asking him to design cards for Final Fantasy II and Final Fantasy V in the TCG.

You can check out an interview he did with the Final Fantasy Portal Site here along with some of the great artwork he did.
