Final Fantasy VII to be included in Sony's PlayStation Classic

Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that they will release a mini PlayStation console this December.

The PlayStation Classic will come pre-loaded with 20 classic titles including Final Fantasy VII.

It's about 45% smaller than the original console and all games will be playable in their original format.

Each console will come with a HDMI cable, a USB cable and two controllers.

15 of the 20 games have yet to be revealed so it's possible other Square titles may be included such as Final Fantasy VIII or Final Fantasy IX.

Final Fantasy VII was ported to PlayStation 4 a few years ago but Sony currently has no emulation for PlayStation games on PlayStation 4 so for many of these games it may be your only chance to play them without old consoles.

It also means Sony could well follow this up with a PlayStation 2 Classic in a year or two, and although Sony launched PS2 Classics for PlayStation 4 a few years ago they have completely given up on the service, with very few games being released in the past two years.

It will be available for $99.99 USD (MSRP) / $129.99 CAN (MSRP) / €99.99 (RRP) on December 3, 2018.
