Ubisoft, the publishing giant behind the Assassin's Creed franchise and Square Enix have announced a large scale collaboration between the upcoming Assassin's Creed Origins and Final Fantasy XV.

Plans for the collaboration started almost 3 years ago after the Assassin's Creed and Final Fantasy XV development teams met at Tokyo Game Show 2014.

The collaboration kicks off August 30 as Final Fantasy XV players who have the Dream Egg from the Moogle Chocobo Carnival event will be gifted an Assassin's Creed outfit for Noctis.

August 31 will mark the release of the Assassin's Festival for Final Fantasy XV. It will be available as a free download from the PlayStation Store and Xbox Store.

Lestallum will transform like the Moogle Chocobo Carnival and become decorated in Assassin's Creed themed signs and banners. It will feature mini-games and gameplay elements from the Assassin's Creed franchise. There will be new outfits for Noctis, Prompto, Ignis and Gladio to wear based off Assassin's Creed and they will even be able to use abilities from the Assassin's Creed games.

The collaboration will run until January 31, 2018. There will no doubt be much more on the way especially in Assassin's Creed Origins.

This is not the first time Assassin's Creed and Final Fantasy have teamed up. Final Fantasy XIII-2 featured an Ezio's Assassin's Creed: Revelations DLC outfit for Noel on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Assassin's Creed Origins is scheduled to release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on October 27, 2017. It will also support PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X from launch.
