A King's Tale: Final Fantasy XV Not Currently Included In Ultimate Collector's Editions

Square Enix announced a new game for the Final Fantasy XV Universe on the first day of E3 called A King's Tale: Final Fantasy XV. It's a retro-styled side-scrolling beat 'em up featuring King Regis and it will be made available on the same day that Final Fantasy XV releases, but with a caveat.

You will only be able to play the game if you pre-order Final Fantasy XV and when it was announced, it was stated that it was a retailer specific deal. GameStop in the US and others locally.

Naturally, questions were asked around whether existing pre-orders would be amended to include this, especially for those who have pre-ordered the Ultimate Collector's Edition through Square Enix's store, but after reaching out to Square Enix for a comment, we were told that right now "A King's Tale is currently exclusive to Gamestop in the US and other local retailers in other territories".

In other words, unless you pre-order the game through GameStop in the US or the other specific local retailers, you won't be able to play A King's Tale on the 30th of September, 2016. The Ultimate Collector's Edition, is, of course, exclusive to the Square Enix Store and isn't available for purchase at GameStop or other retailers.

That's not to say that things won't change in the future, but right now, it doesn't sound like any pre-orders outside of those through the highlighted retailers will include A King's Tale.
