Final Fantasy Type-0 Online Announced For Mobile

Written by Darryl — 19 Sep 2015

We heard a short time ago that Final Fantasy Agito+ had been cancelled, and that Square Enix would be announcing a "reborn" version of the game at Tokyo Game Show 2015. Well, that has now been confirmed as Final Fantasy Type-0 Online, a new game for mobile devices.

Without delving too much into the story of Final Fantasy Type-0, this new version will take place in a parallel universe and is said to feature similar gameplay to the original - albeit using touch controls. It will also see the multiplayer that was stripped from Final Fantasy Type-0 HD return, with up to four players being able to take part in battles.

On their Final Fantasy XV Twitter account, Square Enix labelled Final Fantasy Type-0 Online as an "evolution of Agito".

One of the main sticking points about this release though, is that there is no confirmed Western release date for Final Fantasy Type-0 Online. Instead, it's only been confirmed fora 2016 release in Japan, with a North American and European release "under consideration".

We will keep you informed when we learn more about this game. Be sure to look out for an upcoming article too, talking about how the Final Fantasy Type franchise all fits together.
