Adventurers don't have much longer to wait until Final Fantasy XIV - Heavensward is released, but before that happens we still have one huge patch to get through and Square Enix have released the patch notes detailing what adventurers can expect in this update.

Patch 2.5 will see Part II of Before the Fall which will mark the end of the main scenario quests for this portion of the game and will lead to the region of Ishgard which happens to be where Heavensward is primarily based.

Also included will be some additional buffs for adventurers attempted The Second Coil of Bahamut. What were originally 5% buffs, are now at 20% which means adventurers will have increased max HP, damage, and improved healing magic potency. The weekly restriction on entering all four turns has been abolished allowing players to proceed to any turn.

A new trial known as "The Steps of Faith" will be added which is an 8-man duty where players will have to defend specific constructs along the bridge to Ishgard.

Players will also now be able to get Encrypted Tomestones from "The Gift of the Archmagus" weekly quest. These can be used to nab i120 weapons allowing players access to them without having gone through the Final Coil of Bahamut.

Finally, Square Enix have teased that the "player-matching algorithms for the Duty Finder" have been changed in preparation for Heavensward so we'll have to wait and see what happens.
