For those of you playing Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Patch 2.4 Dreams of Ice is out now with lots of new content for everyone to explore. There's also a lot of new information regarding Heavensward, A Realm Reborn's first expansion, from the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival.

Patch 2.4

As mentioned before, Dreams of Ice includes the new Primal battle against the veteran Final Fantasy summon Shiva, the new Rogue class and Ninja job, hard modes of the Sastasha and The Sunken Temple of Qarn dungeons, and the Final Coil of Bahamut. There's also the new Snowcloak dungeon, a new housing subdivision, a continuation of the main scenario, and so much more.

You can check out the full details from the official patch notes here.

At the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival in London, producer/director Naoki Yoshida announced a bunch of new information fans can expect from the expansion.

First off, fans will be able to use flying mounts such as a single rider airship and even a flying chocobo. There are seven mounts in total that players will be able to collect.

Also announced were two beast tribes such as the Vanu Vanu who worship the primal Bismarck and the Gnath who worship the primal Ravana. The Dark Knight job was announced which will be a tank job with no base class meaning players can play as a Dark Knight right from the start. They can wield two-handed swords which means we'll be getting a bunch of new weapons, but they also can wield the power of darkness.

Yoshida hinted that the next job to be announced would be gunner. He wore a "007" shirt and said that his favorite Bond film was "The Man with the Golden Gun" but we probably won't know for sure until the Fan Festival in Tokyo this December.
