Final Fantasy XIV PS4 Release Date Revealed By Yoshida

Written by Darryl — 26 Jan 2014

Today was a good day for PS4 gamers, as we now know that Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will be releasing on the 14th of April, 2014.

Those of you who have been following Final Fantasy XIV on PS4 will note that this is rather close to the beta, which is due to start on the same day as the PS4 launches in Japan (22nd of Feb).

There were will be two versions of the game - standard and collector's edition. These will both be sporting some rather nice new box art, which has been created by Akihiro Yoshida.

The news of the release date was confirmed by Naoki Yoshida during the latest Letter from the Producer LIVE. During this time, it was revealed that the PS4 collector's edition of the game would be similar to the PS3/PC version, but would include a Fat Chocobo Mount and Wind-Up Moogle Minion. This will also be added for those who previously purchased the collector's edition.

If you're interested in playing the PS4 version and already own the PS3 version, Square Enix has been rather kind. You won't need to re-purchase the game as you can upgrade for free. However, if you decide to do this, you won't be able to use the PS3 any more.
