Emperor Gramis Gana Solidor

Final Fantasy XII

Minor Character

Voice Actor: Roger L. Jackson
Age: N/A

Gramis Gana Solidor, otherwise known as the Emperor of Archadia, is also the father of Vayne Carudas Solidor and Larsa Ferrinas Solidor. He is the eleventh Emperor, and fourth from House Solidor to sit at the throne.

Emperor Gramis was responsible for the Archadian attacks on Nabradia and Dalmasca. He is also in part responsible for Vayne's ruthless persona, as it was under his instructions that Vayne killed his older brothers. However, he only instructed Vayne to do this as he feared they were planning to revolt against him. As the senate begin to distrust the actions made by Gramis he begins to regret his past and the effects it has had upon his family.

The Senate decides that only one of Gramis' sons is fit to lead the Empire, and they make him choose. He picks Larsa and this causes Vayne to come back to Archades in a temper. Vayne confronts Gramis, and states that that Archadia was built on military intervention and not negotiation and the peace that Larsa would see fit to influence. Gramis understands his son's words, but while he does acknowledge it, he doesn't respond any further.

Shortly after, news reaches the Senate that Gramis has been murdered. Vayne instantly assumes the role of Emperor until matters can be settled officially. The Sentate is blamed for the death of Gramis and is forced to disband, and while its never officially confirmed it is most apparent that Vayne was responsible for his father's death. Something that Gramis expected.
