Last week, Kotaku rumoured that Final Fantasy Versus XIII could be cancelled. However, Square Enix CEO, Yoichi Wada denied the rumour via Twitter. He said:

“There's someone making a false rumour that Versus was cancelled. Haha... just a minute ago, the regular Versus meeting ended. If you saw the presentation of the city, it'd knock you off your feet - lol."

After recent absences at events like E3 and the Tokyo Game Show, there has been no new footage since 2011. But now that the game has been confirmed to be alive and kicking, could we see it at the Final Fantasy 25th Anniversary Event?

The Anniversary Event will take place on September 1st.
