Type-0: Moogles, Crystariums, Characters And More

PSP by Colin

More details regarding Type-0's use of Moogles have been released. Reports from Andriasang and a Japanese blog say that while Moogles do appear in Type-0 as actual moogles, not dolls are other odd items as seen in XIII and X, Moogle is actually an acronym: Military Operation Organization Guidance & Logistics Experts.

In Type-0, the Peristylium of Rubrum acts as a school and each class has its own Moogle. Class Zero's Moogle is called "Hattsumikamine Routoyousuna Elfuruchi," a bit of a mouthful, but at the moment it's just the romanized Japanese name. Images show the Moogle with Class Zero's teacher, Kurasame. It's voiced by a one very young voice actress, Sumire Morohoshi.

Dengeki also notes that the Suzaku Peristylium will act as your main hub, where you'll be able to obtain missions as well as check out the Crystarium, which is an archive of the game's background information and whatnot, not unlike the Datalog seen in XIII.

You'll be able to get missions from a Moogle, move out to the world map and head to the designated area. Missions are cleared by achieving set conditions. In addition, Type-0 will have free missions that you can pick and play at your own leisure, completely separate from the main story. Think of them as sidequests.

Three new characters have also been introduced. Khalia Chival VI, who is voiced by Iemasu Kayumi, is the 174th principal of Suzaku, essentially making him governor of Rubrum. He is well known for his aptitude with magic, especially in his younger days and has garnered the support of those around him.

Qator Bashtar, voiced by Hideo Ishikawa, is the general of Milites, the nation that invades Rebrum. He has an eyepatch on his left eye and his weapons are both a sword and a firearm. He takes pride in being a military man and will not back away from fighting on the front lines of a battle.

Izana, voiced by Keiji Fujiwara, is a soldier from Suzaku. You've already seen him in one of the trailers as he reaches out to a dying Chocobo, failing to heal it and calling out for Ace. Apparently, he really loves Chocobos. Then again, who doesn't?

Not a lot of details were released on the game's summons, but it looks like Golem and Ifreet are back. Golem has a rocket punch attack and is able to activate a Burst mode, where its attack and defense is raised significantly.
