Square Enix Issue Final Fantasy V PSN Statement

FFV by Darryl

Final Fantasy V was released on the European PlayStation Network during last week, but Square Enix has issued a statement which clarifies exactly what version of the game it was.

Originally, Square Enix stated that there would be "all-new CG cinematic sequences exclusive to the PSN edition." They've now contacted Final Fantasy Union to retract that statement and have issued an apology to fans.

Indeed, Final Fantasy V on the PlayStation Network is simply a port of the PlayStation One version, which was an update on the original SNES version. So, no "all-new" cutscenes at all. It's a real shame, as many were looking forward to checking out some new content for the game.
