Rumour: Final Fantasy XIV Coming To Xbox 360

Rumour: Final Fantasy XIV Coming To Xbox 360

It looks like someone has been doing some detective work, as a an online CV (Resume) has been found in which the individual represented, Yuuki Akama, claims to be working on Final Fantasy XIV for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. She's also apparently working on Final Fantasy Agito XIII and The Third Birthday, both of which will release on the PSP.

Final Fantasy XIV was initially unveiled during Sony's E3 press conference last year, but it was only announced for the PC and PS3. Since then, the director of the game, Hiromichi Tanaka, has stated that talks are ongoing with Microsoft, but that Xbox Live is seen as an issue - presumably they want charge people monthly, but don't want to charge them twice.

Whether it is actually being worked on remains to be seen, and whether the online profile is real also remains to be seen. Don't expect an official word from Square Enix any time soon though.

It's not all that surprising really. Either way I'll get it on PC, the community will more than likely last a lot longer than its console counterparts.

Xephoni:
Wasn't this pretty much said months ago in a magazine?

They just said they were in discussions with Microsoft, not that it was actually being developed.

It's definitely in the works. It was before it's just they (Square-Enix) were in discussions about the XBL account system. I guess that has been sorted out by now so it should be released around the same time or just a few short months after.
The good thing for S-E is that there isn't a definite release for it, just sometime this year, so they have time to get the 360 one completed without "delaying" it in the consumers eyes.

I'm still sceptical about the reliability of this CV evidence. :/ Still, I suppose it is likely to happen anyway. We might here more at E3?

Eskimo Keith:
I don't see why charging people "twice" is an issue for either Square or Microsoft, they did with FFXI. Another thing i'd like to say as the proposed 'fanboy of 2009' is that Square would be best off using the console with the best online structure. ;)

Since FFXIV will have its own online infastructure, I doubt it'll make any difference. As with Final Fantasy XI, it's unlikely to use XBL or PSN in any way.

Remus:
Then i would prefer PC. Cause there is nothing better then a pc, for online gaming. doesnt matter which game.

I would agree, but only if they implement a windower this time.

Dont think they stick with the multi platform thing, but its another way to get money each month.
And we all know $E -.-
But as long as Versus stays exclusive, im ok with that.

Oh yeah, FFXI was on 360 as well. I'd forgotten about that! So, yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if FFXIV appears on 360, especially as FFXIII has. I'm guessing they'll probably stick with the whole multi-platform thing now.

XI came for xbox too or was is only PC & PS2?
So its not rly suprising, that another mmo came for 360?
