Final Fantasy XIV Patch 1.19 Released
The long awaited Patch 1.19 for Final Fantasy XIV was finally released earlier today, ushering in a slew of game changing content and features to the massively online multiplayer title.
You can check out the comprehensive patch notes over at The Lodestone, but to summarize some of the key features related to quests, the update adds several new ones, updates to Grand Company deeds and the introduction of Company leves.
As reported earlier last month, chocobo mounts and airships have been added alongside Caravan escorting quests where adventurers are tasked with protecting a caravan of chocobos from marauding bandits. Beastman Strongholds and a new non-instanced dungeon for low level players have been added. Of course, the Bowl of Embers instance has also been added, where adventurers will face of with the Lord of Inferno, Ifrit.
As of 1.19, physical levels have been abolished and the terms class rank and skill points have been changed to class level and experience points. Attribute values will now increase automatically according to class levels instead of through manual distribution. Attributes will play a more important impact on player performance, but will depreciate as you level up, with gear and equipment taking its place as the primary source of attribute benefits. The patch notes mentions that a system where players can voluntarily distribute their attribute points wil be put in place in patch 1.20. A number of changes have been made to how experience points are distributed as well.
In addition, new enemies and Notorious Monsters have been introduced in 1.19 while the distribution of enemy mobs in several areas have been adjusted. A number of which will see an increase in enemy numbers "to serve as hunting grounds."
There's a whole lot more where that came from, so be sure to check out the patch notes.
