Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Awoken Trailer Released

PS3 by Fozzie

There’s a little over a week left until Final Fantasy XIV’s “A Realm Awoken” patch 2.1 is live and in effort to make us even more excited for its release, Square Enix have released a trailer featuring some of the new features adventurers will get to play with. We have detailed the different features mentioned below in the order in which they were displayed in the trailer:

The Crystal Tower
As previously mentioned, The Crystal Tower will be added to Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn featuring bosses and remastered music from Final Fantasy III.

The Wolves’ Den
This, of course, is the PvP arena. It’s located on an island off the coast of Limsa Lominsa and will be open to all Grand Companies of Eorzea.

This is something we’ve been aware of for awhile, but now Square Enix is showing off the three districts adventurers will be able to inhabit. There’s The Lavender Beds of Gridania, The Goblet of Ul’dah, and the Mist of Limsa Lominsa. The three of them are very different in styles much like the locations in which they are settled.

If you love moogles, you’ll love this one. Apparently all of the moogles are attempting to resurrect their leader, Good King Moggle Mog XII who doesn’t seem too thrilled to see us.

Beast Tribe Quests
Daily quests where adventurers can learn more about the beast tribes in Eorzea.

Treasure Hunt
If hunting buried treasure is more your thing, use Treasure Hunt as a chance to find some super rare items.

Befriend an Aesthetician in this newly added quest and you’ll be able to change your hairstyle and face paint!

Hildibrand, Agent of Enquiry
After a ton of positive responses from fans, Hildibrand has been promoted from his original spot in Private Inn Room quests to recurring NPC for inn-related quests.

Pharos Sirius
Venture into a massive abandoned lighthouse and defeat the siren of Umbra who lives inside. Just watch out for her zombie like minions.

New Difficulty Levels Added
Now adventures can play Haukke Manor and Copperbell Mines on hard and The Howling Eye, Navel, and Bowl of Embers on extreme. Also updated is The Minstel’s Ballad: Ultima’s Bane where you can fight against the Ultima Weapon on hard.

New Main Scenario Quests
There are some new Main Scenario Quests to check out as the beast tribes keep trying to summon primals. Also mentioned are the Garlean forces and the Ascians who also seem to want your head on a silver platter.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Patch 2.1 “A Realm Awoken” will release on the 17th of December. How many of you will be taking part? Be sure to check out the trailer below:
