Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster Now Available on iOS and Android

As of today, the Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster has been made available for players to enjoy on iOS and Android mobile devices.

This continues a recent trend that has seen Square Enix make other Final Fantasy games available on iOS and Android, with Final Fantasy IX being the most recent, something that is possible by using a cloud steaming service called Broadmedia, but for now it’s only available in Japan.

Using this service, it will be possible to play Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy X: Eternal Calm, Final Fantasy X-2 and Final Fantasy X-2: Last Mission on smartphones or tablets, as well as listen to the brand new audio drama.

The addition of Android and iOS means the Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster is now available on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, PC, iOS and Android; quite the collection! And it means the only mainline Final Fantasy games not available on mobile are Final Fantasy VIII, Final Fantasy XI, Final Fantasy XII and Final Fantasy XIV.

Can You Play Final Fantasy X on Android / iOS / Mobile?

Yes, but through legal means it’s quite restrictive.

At the moment, it’s only possible to play Final Fantasy X on Android, iOS and other mobile devices in Japan via the Broadmedia service. In other regions, it’s only possible through unofficial means.

By using Broadmedia, it’s possible to play the Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster on mobile devices for free for 30 minutes before a payment of 3,400 Yen is required.

If you happen to be in the region or have accounts focussed on Japan, you can download the game from the Apple App Store for iOS devices along with the Google Play Store and Amazon Appstore for Android devices in the links below:-
