Square Enix has put out some details on Final Fantasy Legends: Warrior of Light and Darkness for cell phones in Japan. It won't be in 3D but instead a throwback to ye old school days of 2 dimensional sprites saving the world.

The game will be available for cell phones, or keitai phones, in Japan this September. No word yet on a North American release but lets not forget that Final Fantasy I and II are available for iPhones now, as is Final Fantasy IV: The After Years which was originally for cell phones and was ported to the Wii via WiiWare.

Warrior of Light and Darkness offers a classic Final Fantasy experience, complete with a job and 5 party system. It is also an episodic game.
