FFXIV PS3 Technical Difficulties Due To Memory
While the PC version of Final Fantasy XIV nears its release, which is next month, the PlayStation 3 version has been delayed until March 2011 - or indefinitely until Square Enix can rectify the "technical difficulties" that they've run into.
Producer Hiromichi Tanaka explained in detail what the problem was when he was speaking at GamesCom last week.
"The main reason was memory," said Tanaka.
"On the PC, they have enormous memory. For PS3, there's a restriction.
"They are adjusting the memory size and customizing it; it took longer than we were expecting. But we're really working hard to bring it out as soon as possible."
Understandable after seeing how demanding the game is, requiring an i7 processor and GTX 460 graphics card in order to enjoy a "smooth experience."
