A few days ago, news filtered onto the internet about a promotion running with Final Fantasy XIII that would allow beta access to Final Fantasy XIV. Unfortunately, this news was translated incorrectly and is actually false.

The message, while related to Final Fantasy XIV, was actually talking about an item that could become unlocked by using the code gained by purchasing Final Fantasy XIII. Not quite as exciting, but it could still be pretty cool depending on what the item is.

Square Enix have also pointed out that this promotion will be valid for those who buy the Limited Edition Final Fantasy XIII PlayStation 3 bundle in Japan.
