In the battle of the Final Fantasy VIII main characters, Quistis managed to prevail against ladies-man Irvine. It was close, but not as close as I would have predicted.

Today sees two minor characters (on paper) squaring off against. However, those who have played the games will appreciate they are actually much more than minor characters. Both Shantotto in Final Fantasy XI and Cissnei in Crisis Core have roles to play, but you now have to decide whose was more significant.
