Digital Foundry's Richard Leadbetter has come out all guns blazing against the Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy XIII saying: "The rumours are true. Final Fantasy XIII on Xbox 360 isn’t anywhere near as impressive as it is on PlayStation 3. The real kicker is that it’s a lot worse than it should have been."
There is a lot more to come in the full story, including more quotes from the face-off article that put a downer on the Xbox 360 version to say the least. So make sure you click the article name above!

360 Version Is Grim
Xbox 360 Version Of Final Fantasy XIII Already Pirated
Tue, Mar 2nd, 2010, 7:26 pm (EST) by Omen
With Final Fantasy XIII exactly one week from release in the US & Europe, a pirated version of the game has found its way onto the internet. The pirated version is only available on the Xbox 360 due to the PlayStation 3 having superior piracy protection on the Blu-ray disc and console itself.
Many people will remember Modern Warfare 2 being leaked on the Xbox 360 earlier last year, which incidentally was the most pirated game of 2009 with over 4,000,000 illegal downloads confirmed. This huge number of downloads in turn, lead to a mass banning of Xbox Live accounts just a day before the game's release.
Whether this will effect Final Fantasy XIII's sales on the Xbox 360, or how Square-Enix and Microsoft decide to tackle the problem, still remains to be seen. All that is known is that with only seven days left before the game's release, things aren't off to a good start.

Earlier today, VanaFest 2010, an official event in Tokyo held for the fans and players of Final Fantasy XI took place. During the build up to the gathering, Square-Enix promised exclusive Final Fantasy XIV news. Of course, expectations soared.

However, the most exciting part of the evening was when Square-Enix fulfilled their promise and all attendees were treated to a chance to play an alpha version of Final Fantasy XIV.

Final Fantasy XIII Media Blowout, Tons of Media and Interviews
Fri, Feb 12th, 2010, 9:01 pm (EST) by Colin
With the release date of one of the industry's biggest and most anticipated titles drawing ever closer, gamers just can't help but fidget in their seats as they endure the excruciating countdown. Fortunately, there's been a rather huge media blowout this week with plenty of video interviews, previews and the like to satiate the hungry masses.
Interviews with producer Yoshinori Kitase and designer Motomu Toriyama reveal a wealth of information about Final Fantasy's story and gameplay. Many have asked the question if players were only capable of controlling the main character at any given time, but as it turns out, they'll be given the option of who to control as well as who to put in their party. They also speak about the history of Final Fantasy XIII, its technology and the development process which, as Kitase stated, the developer wished they could have "brought the game out a little sooner to players."
Read the rest and check out the media after the jump.

Kitase Interested in 3D Final Fantasy XIII
Thu, Feb 11th, 2010, 6:10 am (EST) by Colin
An interview by UK's official PlayStation community with Final Fantasy XIII's producer and designer, Yoshinori Kitase and Motomu Toriyama, has revealed some interesting bits of information about their latest game.
Among an assortment of questions from the community, one of them asked if Square-Enix would consider releasing Final Fantasy XIII in 3D. Kitase didn't go into too much details, but did express interest in such a release.
"We don't know how possible it is to build the game in 3D but we are interested in it. In fact, we have already created a 3D Final Fantasy XIII trailer, which is currently showing in Japanese cinemas alongside the film Avatar."
Ever since James Cameron's Avatar, 3D has been quite the topic in the entertainment industry. Sony and Samsung are already leading the pack in bringing 3D into the consumers' homes. The gaming industry isn't too far behind either with titles like Batman Arkham Asylum and Avatar implementing 3D technology.

Final Fantasy XIII Xbox 360 Case Confirms DLC
Sun, Feb 7th, 2010, 1:01 pm (EST) by Omen
GameStop has posted the back of Final Fantasy XIII's box for the Xbox 360, and it reveals a few interesting details. On the back, it mentions various things, but the one that is most interesting is 'Game-content Downloads'.
Recently, in a Dutch Official Playstation Magazine issue there was an interview with game producer Yoshinori Kitase where DLC was mentioned. Kitase stated that due to plans of having a simultaneous release, both Western and Japanese versions of the game would be identical. However, with the Western version taking a little longer than expected, they have prepared "a DLC but it will arrive a little later."
The snapshot of the back of the box confirms what Kitase has stated in his interview, but with no image of the Playstation 3 box will this downloadable content be console exclusive like many other multi-platform games on the Xbox 360?

Final Fantasy VIII Coming Feb 4th To EU PlayStation Store
Thu, Jan 21st, 2010, 11:02 am (EST) by Ronin90
Many Europeans have been waiting for a quite a while to get their hands on Final Fantasy VIII via the PlayStation store, as it originally became available in Japan way back in September of 2009. North Americans were then able to enjoy it in December of 2009, but Europeans kept checking every Thursday to no avail.
Sony have now finally given a concrete release date for the title though, and they've set it as the 4th of February, 2010. Currently there's no price attached to the product, but expect it to be in a similar price range to Final Fantasy VII.
Next on the check list would be Final Fantasy IX, but that hasn't even been rumoured yet, so it might be a while before it's seen.
