It's been revealed that Toshiro Tsuchida, who was a battle director on Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy XI and Final Fantasy XII has left Square Enix.
Tsuchida was also the main behind the Front Mission franchise, having directed Front Mission 1 through 5. He also wrote the story for the original Front Mission.
It's not been detailed why he has left Square Enix, but this does throw the Front Mission franchise in doubt, especially after the flop that was Front Mission Evolved.
A tech demo of the Final Fantasy game, coded named Fortress, previously in development by swedish studio, GRIN, has surfaced on Youtube. The game is no longer being developed by GRIN, but according GRIN the game is now being developed by someone else.
The tech demo consists of a player character traversing wooded, and desert areas, as well as interacting with a large enemy, and other soldier-like enemies. The character is seen riding a Chocobo at one pointed, as well as shooting arrows.
It has been reported that the unannounced game is part of the Ivalice Alliance of Final Fantasy games, those that take place in Final Fantasy XII's world and history. Concept art of Ashe and a Judge have appeared on the portfolio websites of former GRIN employees.
