Jump Festa is open at the Makuhari Messe and Square Enix has a large lineup of games to wet our appetites to. Just as the doors opened, Square Enix updated their event lineup with two more titles.
A poll was recently conducted in Japan which simply asked "which is your favourite Square Enix franchise?" The most common answer was Dragon Quest, with Final Fantasy sitting pretty in second position. Dragon Quest received almost 1/3 of all the votes, while Final Fantasy obtained just over 1/5.
The rest of the results actually make some interesting reading, as Kingdom Hearts is way down in 8th, receiving only 2.9 percent of the votes. It even came behind Square Enix's informational range of DS titles, which is quite a poor showing.

Square Enix have submitted a new trademark application for 'Dragon Quest Wars', which suggests they are going to continue to go forward with their strategy of utilising existing franchises as a priority.
It's unknown which console the game is targeted at, but so far all Dragon Quest games this generation have been on the Nintendo DS or Nintendo Wii, so it's more than likely going to be on one of those two. The name also suggests that it could be some kind of Strategy RPG, which could certainly be interesting.
It was originally filed for on the 23rd of April 2009, and it was awaiting final approval on the 27th of April.
