Game Over For Crystal Chronicles Franchise?
Sun, Jan 24th, 2010, 7:47 pm (EST) by Ronin90
When Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles first appeared on the Nintendo Gamecube back in 2004 it was very well received. It allowed four people to take part in the action, but they had to play using Game Boy Advances, instead of Gamecube controllers. Despite these heavy requirements, the game still ended up selling well over 1 million units and Square Enix naturally thought they were on to a winner.
This lead to Square Enix making the game into a franchise, which started with a prequel in the form of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates. It appeared on the Nintendo DS, and like its predecessor, it allowed people to join together to play the game, this time using the Wi-Fi capabilities of the DS. However, its sales didn't manage to stack up to the original game, with it selling just over 600,000 units worldwide.

Crystal Bearers Mini-OST Needs Fan Input
Posted on 2009/10/02 by Ronin90
With Final Fantasy Chrystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers not long from release, Square Enix are trying to decide what music should feature on the Mini-OST that will accompany the game.
To aid them, it appears as though they want users to select six-tracks from the ten that are available and they've set up a page with short samples of these tracks to help people decide.
In theory, it should make the Mini-OST a much more interesting proposition, as the tracks will have been user selected, but we'll see how true that is when the game is released on the 12th of November, 2009 in Japan.
The game is also scheduled to be released on the 26th of December, 2009 in North America.

Posted on 2009/08/18 by Ronin90
The Crystal Bearers was touted as one of Nintendo's biggest products during this year's E3, but it doesn't look like Square Enix is willing to offer them the same kind of support.
In an interview with Nintendo Power, Toshiyuki Itahana, the game's director, stated that the game will not be compatible with Wii MotionPlus:
Toshiyuki Itahana: "We considered this option, but we have abandoned. To take control of The Crystal Bearers is made to be intuitive and does not require greater sensitivity. "

Square Enix @ GamesCom 2009: What To Expect
Posted on 2009/08/16 by Ronin90
Square Enix have been busy since E3 2009, with a ton of information filtering out about their games. The majority of it has come from Japan, but that doesn't mean that Square Enix don't care about their European audience.

Both Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy XIV will be represented at the convention, with the lead producers of both projects attending the event. This could mean that some new information is squeezed out of them, and that's probably going to be the most likely source.
