Looks like Final Fantasy XV is being re-released at retail with DLC

Final Fantasy XV recently completed its first year of DLC and it looks like Square Enix is going to re-release the game at retail with that included.

The ESRB has rated "Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition" for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

This would be no surprise as many games are re-released at retail months or years later including DLC and updates. It's unclear however if this would include the DLC and updates installed on the disc or simply include a code for the Season Pass. It is most likely the latter however since Final Fantasy XV already takes up the entire Blu-ray Disc's capacity of 50GB.

The fact that they appear to be doing this soon however means it likely wouldn't include the DLC they plan on releasing in 2018 which could mean another re-release in 2019. However it's also certainly possible they will include a code for a second Season Pass if they do one.

This also would not be the first time Square Enix has re-released a Final Fantasy game at retail with DLC, as they did the same for Final Fantasy XIII-2 in Japan during 2013.

When Square Enix confirms this we'll let know.
