Square Enix teased there may be an announcement that would make Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age fans happy in order to celebrate the HD remaster reaching one million copies sold and here it is.

Releasing sometime on November 22 will be a new update for Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age, it will add The Sky Pirate’s Den, an area in the original game that housed the game's original achievements system. With the PlayStation Network trophies it made the the previous achievements system unnecessary so they removed it, but now it's coming back.

But that's not all, a free Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age, PlayStation 4 theme will also be released on the PlayStation Store in Japan (will be released elsewhere at a later time) on November 22 as well. It features brand new art of the Viera in Eruyt Village by one of Final Fantasy XII's art directors, Hideo Minaba. You can check out the art here.

Previously, the only Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age theme available was a pre-order exclusive designed by Final Fantasy XII's other art director, Isamu Kamikokuryo. So this is good to see.

The livestream also featured some surprise guests as promised including scenario writer Daisuke Watanabe (scenario advisor on The Zodiac Age), Final Fantasy XII lead motion designer Takeo Suzuki and the composer of both the original game and The Zodiac Age in Hitoshi Sakimoto. See them here.

This marks the first time Daisuke Watanabe has been publicly seen in quite some time. He was one of the scenario writers for Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy X-2, Final Fantasy XII, Dissidia Final Fantasy and was most recently the lead scenario writer of the Final Fantasy XIII series. He's currently serving as lead scenario writer on Mobius Final Fantasy.

Lastly, yet another trailer for Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age has been released. At this rate there will be more trailers post-release than pre-release. Check it out below.
