Square Enix has announced Final Fantasy XV Multiplayer Expansion: Comrades will have a Closed Online Test begin on August 3rd (5 a.m. Pacific) and run until August 9th (12 a.m. Pacific).

It will take place simultaneously worldwide for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Players will be able to create their own custom avatars and join up to three friends in multiplayer quests. Voice chat and preset chat messages will be available for communicating with other players.

The Closed Online Test will be available for download from the PlayStation Store and Xbox Store throughout the period it runs for.

In order to participate you will need to own Final Fantasy XV's Season Pass and have an active subscription to PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold. This will also be the case when the full version launches later this year except that it will also be able to purchase as a separate Add-On like the Episodes.

Square Enix also advises that the schedule of the Closed Online Test is subject to change. In addition, the content in the test version will be different to the content in the full version and you will not be able to transfer any progress over to the full version.
