Final Fantasy XIV Fan Fest Dates Announced For America, Europe, and Japan

Written by Katie — 19 May 2016

It’s finally here! Fans around Europe can rejoice as the FFXIV Fan Festival date has been announced! The FFXIV development team posted a few updates on Monday about the event on the Lodestone, and they acknowledged that fans all over the world were eagerly anticipating these updates. We now know that the FFXIV Fan Festival in Europe will take place in Frankfurt, Germany, on February 18th and 19th 2017.

The Fan Festival now being a two day event is a welcome change in comparison to the first Fan Festival, which took place on 25th October 2014. Europe was the only location where the Fan Festival lasted just one day. After attending the event in London almost 2 years ago, I found that it wasn’t long enough for fans to truly enjoy the mass amount of activities that Square Enix set out for us. But with Europe joining the weekend plans, this feedback is likely to change. An extra day at the event gives players a chance to spread their agendas across the weekend and allow plenty of time to complete all they would like to do.

But the date wasn’t all that was released this week. Square Enix also launched the European Fan Festival teaser site, where fans can keep an eye on planned activities, see photos from past events, and check out the venue location. It is also likely that this website will be the place for attendees to buy their event tickets, so those wishing to join the festivities should save the link for future announcements.
