There's a lot of content coming to Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward. Patch 3.2 Gears of Change promises some additional main scenario quests, the hardest raid content in the game to date, and more! Here's a comprehensive list of some of the best bits you can expect from Final Fantasy XIV Patch 3.2 Gears of Change.
Gears of Change Main Scenario
For the main scenario of patch 3.2, expect a lot of backstory on Minfilia and information on how she's related to the mother crystal and how the scions will move forward. There is also the growing drama with the dragons and how they will change the people of Ishgard.
The savage mode of this 8-player raid has been named the hardest raiding content in the game thus far. This raid consists of 4 trials and, unlike Alexander: Gordias, it'll be available the same day as the patch release, however, you will need to tackle it on the normal difficulty before even attempting savage. You will also have a chance at nabbing some new gear in this raid (pictured below).
Sephirot - Containment Bay S1T7
Sephirot from Final Fantasy VI will be making an appearance as a trial for adventurers in Containment Bay S1T7. According to reports, this trial should play like a massive game of "jumprope". Adventurers will also be treated to a remix of "The Fierce Battle" from Final Fantasy VI which should hit fans right in the nostalgia feels.
The Antitower/Lost City of Amdapor (Hard)
These are both level 60 dungeons; one of which is new and the other is a hard version so more places to go to grind and such.
PVP Mode - The Feast
A brand new PVP mode for adventurers to take part in which is based around the Wolves' Den. The objective of The Feast is to either gather the set amount of medals or have the most medals by the end of the match. The more you knock out certain players, the less medals those players will drop and should you not die, you will get a debuff stack called "culling time" making it easier for you to get killed. There are 5 modes which feature 4v4 and 8v8 matches.
Beast Tribe Quest: The Gnath
There will be new Gnath beast tribe quests with similar level syncs to those of the Vanu Vanu and there's a new flying mount which will help your reputation with them. Perhaps this has something to do with the new mount from Ravana (Extreme).
Hall of the Novice/Mentor System
Hall of the Novice - Final Fantasy XIV sort of throws you into the fray a bit leaving you to figure out things for yourself. It can be especially hard if you've never played an MMO before. In this area, you can practice your skills with a number of exercises and will help you to understand terminology within Final Fantasy XIV along with some basic fundamentals when playing in a party.
Mentor - If you're a seasoned adventurer, why not help out a beginner who might be struggling? Through this new system you can get a special option on your Duty Finder called "Duty Roulette: Mentor which will allow you to mentor beginners within a special exclusive chat. With this in mind though, you'll need to be level 60 in the field you which to mentor in along with another associated achievement. Therefore, if you want to mentor in combat, you'll need to have one job from each role (healer/tank/dps) at level 60 and have completed 1,000 dungeons/trials and about 300 commendations from players. For crafters you'll need one level 60 Disciple of the Hand Job and 100 crafted collectibles and as a gatherer, you'll need to get one Disciple of the Land Job up to level 60 along with 300 gathered collectibles.
Stone, Sky, Sea
This is also a bit of a training exercise added to 3.2 where you'll need to defeat a bunch of different types of training dummies within 3 minutes. Using this exercise, you'll hopefully be more prepared for difficult content like raids.
There will be a few new hairstyles to wear which you can check out below:
Housing - Orchestrion and Airship Painting
Orchestrion - With this you can change the music within your estate. You can collect music sheets to expand your collection.
Airship Painting - You can now add some of your own style to your airships with some lovely color. Paint your airship's parts for some added customization.
There have been two revealed thus far. One related to Ravana and one related to Bismarck. There will be another two for Knights of the Round and Sephirot, but they have yet to be revealed.
