Square Enix Bids Farewell To Shinra Technologies

Written by Lauren — 06 Jan 2016

In a sad turn of events, Square Enix has closed their cloud-based gaming subsidiary, Shinra Techologies due to lack of third party investors.

Due to this, Square Enix has reported losing two billion yen for the current fiscal year. Shinra Technologies was headed by former Square Enix president, Yoichi Wada, and, at the moment, no information has been released regarding his future at Square Enix.

It's also uncertain whether or not Square Enix will explore cloud gaming in the future, but we'll keep you posted on any updates.
