Materia Collective Releases MATERIA: Final Fantasy VII Remixed

Written by Darryl — 12 Oct 2015

Enjoying the music of Final Fantasy VII has always been a favourite past time of mine, so I'm really pleased to announce that a new remix project called MATERIA: Final Fantasy VII Remixed has now launched by a group calling themselves the Materia Collective.

Tributes to the music of Final Fantasy are not all that uncommon these days, but MATERIA: Final Fantasy VII Remixed has taken things to a whole new level. Not only is the album a whopping five discs, the Materia Collective managed to gather nearly 200 musicians from around the world to take part in this wonderful collaboration.

Many of these musicians are established in their own right, but they have all pulled together to take part in this momentous project. It means you'll find Wilbert Roger, II (composer on Lara Croft: Temple of Osiris, Dead Island 2, Star Wars: The Old Republic, etc.) featuring alongside Smooth McGroove and Kyle Landry of YouTube fame. It's also personally pleasing to see Sebastian Wolff and Josh Barron (both former members of Squaresound) taking part in the project.

If you're interested in giving the album a list and supporting this wonderful project, be sure to check it out on Loudr and iTunes. Your ears will thank me later!

Darryl was playing Final Fantasy before he was even born - quite a feat! Often very opinionated on the Final Fantasy franchise, you will often find him musing about small details. Feel free to follow him on Twitter.
