Final Fantasy Explorers: New Cameos And Soundtrack Announcement

Although Final Fantasy Explorers seems like it'll be a great game in its own right, Square Enix has announced that many characters from previous games will be available as skins in the highly anticipated 3DS title.

Only Cloud from Final Fantasy VII was announced initially, but now Square Enix have added:

Tina/Terra

(Final Fantasy VI)
2
6 7

Squall

(Final Fantasy VIII)
4
10 11

Lightning

(Final Fantasy XIII)
3
8 9

Square Enix have also announced that the game's soundtrack will be released on December 17th, 2014, a day before the game's release on December 18th. The soundtrack is composed by Sekido Tsuyoshi and will contain 42 songs. You can pre-order it from the official site for 2,000 yen ($18.35) excluding tax. At the moment only a couple of tracks have been released. You can listen to the samples on our Soundcloud page.

A few more jobs have also been announced. First off we have Fusui-Shi who can install traps and mines for enemies.

Beast Tsukai who uses an ax against enemies. They have a lot of power, but due to the bulkiness of their axes, they're pretty slow.

Finally, the summons Dryad and Bahamut have been announced. Before Explorers, Dryad existed as an enemy in Final Fantasy XI, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Tactics, Bravely Default, and Final Fantasy XIV. Now you'll be going head to head with a massive Dryad, that is, if its massive earthquake attack doesn't get you first.

Bahamut on the other hand has been a part of the Final Fantasy series since the very beginning. It's nice to see this classic summon once more looking just as awesome as ever.

Final Fantasy Explorers will release in Japan on December 18th. You can check out all of the new screenshots below:
