Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Helping Square Enix Out Of Financial Struggle

Written by Lauren — 05 Nov 2013

Earlier this year, Square Enix's earning forecast looked pretty grim, but with the surprising success of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, things are finally looking up.

Square Enix has now revised their earning forecast from their original estimate from 59 billion yen ($598 million) to 61.7 billion yen ($626 million). They also estimated a lost of up to 2 billion yen ($20 million), but now Square Enix has estimated a 4.7 billion operating profit. Finally, Square Enix's Net Income has raised from a 1.3 billion yen ($13 million) loss to a happier 2.6 billion yen ($26 million) profit.

This is great news and us here at Final Fantasy Union sincerely hope for the best for our favorite developer. By the way, have you played Final Fantasy XIV yet? Check out our podcast where we talk a bit about it and, if you're convinced, get your copy here. US/UK
