Feast your eyes upon this eleven and a half minute trailer released by Square Enix. The majority of the trailer encompasses Final Fantasy Type-0's gameplay, and gives a good overview of the different kinds everything from the different styles of play for all twelve characters to riding on chocobos and slaying dragons in the sky.
Square Enix have released an extended cut of the Final Fantasy Type-0 trailer showcased at the Tokyo Game Show, covering more of the game's premise and plenty of gameplay and cinematic scenes.
According to RPGSite, there are some scenes that can be considered spoilers, although there isn't any context to any of them.
Type-0 launches later this month in Japan, unfortunately there's still no word on a release in other territories. You can watch the trailer after the jump or over at the official website.
All the latest screens for one of the most exciting Final Fantasy games in recent times have been posted up by Japanese publication Famitsu. It reveals the last few student so Class Zero, more l'Cie and more summons.
Back in Odaiba a couple of weeks ago, Square Enix gave a name to the demo of Final Fantasy Type-0 that was showcased. It's been confirmed, thanks to Famitsu, that the demo is called ‘Natsubi’ and will be released as a free download.
Famitsu didn’t share the timing for the demo’s release but you can see a preview of the demo through a walkthrough video from Odaiba.
Here's a closer look at Shiva in Final Fantasy Type-0 courtesy of a scan from Jump Magazine. It looks like they're going back to the summon's roots of wearing next to nothing while simultaneously looking rather elegant.
A new trailer for Type-0's here and it's five freaking minutes long, introducing all of the key characters amidst gameplay, summons and beautiful cutscenes dropped against some contemporary rock tracks. Speaking of which, the theme song, Zero, is performed by Japanese rock group Bump of Chicken. (See Karma from Tales of the Abyss)
On top of the new trailer, Square Enix have also announced the release date, for Japan at least. Type-0 will hit store shelves on October 13, complete with a costly price tag. Most PSP games retail for 5,040 yen, but the two-UMD epic will retail for 7,700 yen instead.
Despite the less-than-hopeful message from Kitase concerning a Western release, Japan continues to get showered by details on Type-0, which is set for release on the PSP this Summer in Japan. Siliconera has details concerning l'Cie Gilgamesh, Eight from Class Zero and Suzaku's director of magic, a rather buxom Arecia.
Gilgamesh, who is a l'Cie from Genbu, plays an important role in the game and players will be facing off with him from time to time on the battlefield. He's clad in armour and wields a massive sword. Unlike previous iterations, he does not have six arms, for now anyways, but he does wield a rather massive sword, one that easily puts the Buster Sword to shame.
As for Eight, he's another student from Class Zero and a playable character. He's the class' Monk type character, using his fists and legs to pummel his enemies. It sounds like he's a bit of a pacifist, ironically, as he refuses to use weapons since he believes that they are tools that kill. He has a special attacked called Drift Ice Kata.
Not much is said about the director of magic at Suzaku, Arecia, but her role is to enhance magic.
