Today, I want to introduce a new feature to all you Final Fantasy Union viewers and listeners. It's called Ask Square Enix.
This will be a new podcast that releases on the Friday after Final Fantasy Union where we (the hosts of Final Fantasy Union) get to sit down with Square Enix and answer/debate whatever questions you want answered at the time.
Final Fantasy: All The Bravest seems to have rubbed a lot of Final Fantasy fans up the wrong way, for numerous reasons.
This isn't going to be a huge article discussing the pros and cons of such an approach by Square Enix. Instead, it's going to be an opportunity for you guys to voice your opinions. However, to give you some basic information, Final Fantasy: All The Bravest was a new iOS game released by Square Enix for $3.99.
There are some of you who're quite upset by Square Enix's conduct with this game, for example with the amount of in-app purchases, but others who aren't so concerned.
So, what are your thoughts? Are you in favour of this kind of game, or are you dead against it?
We're now in a new year and that means we've got plenty of Burning Questions planned for you guys.
In the last episode of Final Fantasy Union, we decided to keep things pretty simple, so we asked you How Long Have You Been Playing Final Fantasy?
It's a pretty straight-forward question to answer, but we're expecting a load of different responses. It will be interesting to see who're the hardest of hardcore and who're just starting off on their Final Fantasy adventures.
Wow, what a 2012 it's been for the world of Final Fantasy! We've seen a few new games, but not only that, we were also able to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy.
Myself and the staff would like to start off by thanking each and every one of you who visit this website. Without you, what we do on the site wouldn't be the same and it's still very heart-warming to think about what this site has been able to achieve from its humble beginnings.
2012 kicked straight off with the release of Final Fantasy XIII-2, the sequel to 2010's Final Fantasy XIII. It focussed on the story of Lightning, Serah and Noel - all of whom we had the chance to speak to throughout the year.
Cosplaying is not a new thing. It’s been around for a while and it has evolved immensely in that time. Where it once was an activity reserved only for the highly dedicated fans of franchises like Star Trek, it has since progressed into the realm of anime, film, and video games. Final Fantasy is a huge franchise for cosplay and rightly so. With all of the gorgeous designs from the likes of Toshiyuki Itahana, Akihiko Yoshida, Yoshitaka Amano, and Tetsuya Nomura, it was only a matter of time before people began showing up as their favourite characters. It also helps that there’s about 35 games with bucket loads of characters to choose from.
There’s no real way to pinpoint when exactly the first ever Final Fantasy cosplayer appeared, but its popularity in the cosplay-universe is eminent. More often than not, you will find that Cosmode and CosplayGen will feature fantastic Final Fantasy cosplays. A beautiful Onion Knight cosplay even won 2nd place at the MCM Expo competition this past year.
Announced a few months ago, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy proposes to end the whole Lightning Saga, which started with Final Fantasy XIII.
However, since the game's announcement, and after surveying the interweb for answers, it seems as though not many people are actually talking about the game. You might occasionally see a trickle of information, but from what we've seen so far, we want to know are you convinced by Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII?.
Thanks for all the fantastic responses to last week's Burning Question. We may have gone off on a few tangents while reading them out, but some of the points you guys made were awesome. It's so pleasing to know how much you guys care (or indeed don't care) about the future of the Fabula Nova Crystallis franchise.
This week's question, as outlined on the last podcast, is taking a bit more of a "finger in the air" approach to things, as it's about Crystal Chronicles. It's been a very Nintendo-focussed franchise so far, but after the dismal performance of The Crystal Bearers, Square Enix have been pretty quiet on the franchise.
So, this episode we want to know if you Would You Want A Crystal Chronicles Reboot On Nintendo Wii U?
Thanks for all the positive comments about the last episode of Final Fantasy Union! Lauren, Brian and I had an absolute blast recording it, even if Brian complained about the length afterwards.
Anyway, without much further ado, it's time to get on to this episode's Burning Question. We had some interesting discussions, and it led to us getting on the topic of Fabula Nova Crystallis. So, our question for this episode is as follows: Do you want to see more from Fabula Nova Crystallis?
Out of the originally planned games, we've only had one delivered so far - Final Fantasy XIII. Yes, we've had Final Fantasy XIII-2, but that was an afterthought, Final Fantasy Type-0 and Final Fantasy Versus XIII weren't. One of them has been released in Japan only and the other is in development hell.
