FINAL FANTASY VII

MINOR CHARACTER

Shera is a scientist that lives in Rocket Town. She lives with Cid Highwind and appears to take a lot of his abuse for seemingly trivial things, such as her coffee making.

Shera explains that she has to put up with this, as Cid saved her life. When ShinRa were putting a lot of money into Space Research, Cid was chosen to be the pilot and Shera was one of the leading scientists working on the rocket. However, just as the rocket was about to launch, Shera wasn't happy about the pressure of one of the oxygen tanks. Cid had to abort the launch to save her life, even though she told him to take off anyway. Shera feels that she cost Cid his dreams and so, she feels she deserves the way he treats her.

Redemption

Later, when Cid gets the chance to realise his dream and fly the rocket into space, one of the oxygen tanks explodes as he is making his way to the escape pod. Shera had stowed away on the rocket and helps Cid to escape, for which he is very grateful. He also realises that she was right all along and that she was only trying to look out for him.

Because of this revelation, Cid forgives Shera and apologises for the way he has treated her all these years.

FINAL FANTASY VII: ADVENT CHILDREN

MINOR CHARACTER

Shera doesn't appear in Advent Children, but due to her actions in Final Fantasy VII, Cid Highwind has now named his airship after her.

We also learn that Shera has contracted Geostigma on her hand, which is presumably cured at the end of the film by the holy water.

DIRGE OF CERBERUS: FINAL FANTASY VII

MINOR CHARACTER

In Dirge of Cerberus, Cid is again seen flying the Shera - his airship, and while Shera again doesn't appear in the game, she is mentioned in passing. We learn that Cid has actually married her since the events of of Advent Children.

While on the Shera, Vincent tells Cid that Shera is worried about him.
