Final Fantasy VIII

Minor Character

Prior to the events that take place in Final Fantasy VIII, Martine was a proud military man. It was because of this, that Cid Kramer approached him to become the headmaster of Galbadia Garden. He developed a strict training regime and made sure the Garden had close ties with the Galbadian armed forces. It was through this that he became good friends with General Caraway.

However, due to his affiliation with Galbadia, they were also drawn into political conflicts, specifically those involving Galbadian President Vinzer Deling. When he became to fall under the influence of Sorceress Edea, Martine and Caraway hatched a plan to assassinate her. They enlisted SeeDs from Balamb Garden, while also using one of their own, Irvine Kinneas.

Unfortunately the assassination failed, and Edea seizes Galbadia Garden as her base of operations. Martine is forced out of his position and fled the Garden, ending up in Fisherman's Horizon.
