BIGGS

Biggs

FINAL FANTASY IV

MINOR CHARACTER

While unnamed in the original game, it is revealed in Final Fantasy IV: The After Years that Biggs and Wedge were the two Red Wings soldiers who questioned Cecil Harvey about the King of Baron's orders to raid Mysdia to obtain their Water Crystal, since the Mysdiaians offered no resistance and had done no harm to the Red Wings.

FINAL FANTASY VI

MINOR CHARACTER

Mistranslated as Vicks and Wedge in the original English translation, the two characters are briefly playable in the game's opening scenes, assisting Terra Branford in the raid on Narshe. Both characters are soldiers of the Gestahlian Empire.

After Terra begins to react to the Esper Valigarmanda in the Caves of Narshe, both characters disappear and are never heard from again in the game.

FINAL FANTASY VII

MINOR CHARACTER

Biggs takes part in the raid on Mako Reactor No. 5 alongside Cloud, Barret, Jess and Wedge. The mission is successful, although Biggs has to try and restrain Barret following some of Cloud's comments.

Trying To Save Sector 7

When AVALANCHE find out about ShinRa's horrible plans, Biggs joins Jess, Wedge and Barret in attempting to stop them from collapsing the Sector 7 plate. However, as Cloud is running up the tower, he sees the wounded body of Biggs and it is presumed that when the plate collapses, Biggs dies.

FINAL FANTASY VIII

MINOR CHARACTER

Major Biggs and his Lieutenant Wedge are first seen fixing Dollet's Communication Tower so Galbadia could broadcast their propoganda campaign. Wedge tells Biggs a monster has been sighted at the tpp of the tower, but Biggs ignores him. Shortly after the tower becomes operational, Biggs sees Squall's party and orders Wedge to attack them, eventually joining Wedge later on in the battle. The battle is soon interrupted when Elvoret apppears and knocks them away using its Storm Breath. After the party defeats Elvoret and exits the tower, Biggs programs a X-ATM092 to kill the party.

Demoted Due to Their Actions

After the siege of Dollet, Biggs and Wedge are demoted to Lieutenant and Private, respectfully, for their part in the affair. When Squall's party is taken into the D-District Prison, Biggs and Wedge are asked to take care of Zell, Selphie and Quistis for attacking a prison guard. They instantly recognize them and attack the party since they believe the the party is unarmed. Little do they know that Zell had found the weapons just earlier, so Biggs and Wedge are easily defeated. Biggs raises the alarm afterwards as the party makes their escape.

I Don't Care for the Army Anymore

Biggs and Wedge are encountered later in the game in Lunatic Pandora, but they don't fight the part. Instead, Biggs is comtemplating leaving the Galbadian army, which Wedge agrees with and both characters leave the area, never to been seen again in the game.

FINAL FANTASY X

MINOR CHARACTER / LUCA BLITZBALL PLAYER

Biggs and Wedge guard Luca's Blitzball stadium and can be recruited for the player's blitzball team in the game. While initially not as powerful as Wedge, Biggs becomes more useful as he levels up. He wears a blue uniform.

How Do They Peform?

Biggs works best starting in a forward position with his high EN and SH. Duronmg the mid-stages of blitzball, however, he becomes near useless as the rest of his stats are below average. At later levels he becomes much more useful as a forward. Wile both character starts off with a pitful PA, as they level this stat grows to become much more respectful.

FINAL FANTASY TACTICS ADVANCE

In the English translation, Biggs appears as a former business subordinate of Cid Randell.

If players use a Chocobo to gain access to the area earlier on in the game, Gibbs will reveal his hatred of Chocobos and will start to back off, claiming he used to work around them when he was younger and couldn't get rid of their smell on him. Eventually both characters will run away, opening up access to the area.

DIRGE OF CERBERUS: FINAL FANTASY VII

MENTIONED IN PASSING

Both Biggs and Wedge are mentioned in passing during the game when Vincent talks to a girl from the World Regenesis Organization in Midgar's Train Graveyard. She mentions that her brother had been part of a anti-ShinRa rebel group and had died two years earlier during the dropping of the Sector 7 plate, implying that her brother was either Biggs or Wedge.

FINAL FANTASY IV: THE AFTER YEARS

MINOR CHARACTER

Seventeen years after the events in Final Fantasy IV, both Biggs and Wedge are still members of Baron's Red Wings. They lead Ceodore to the Adamant Isle so he can become a knight, spending a short time in the player's party. Biggs, a captain, is very hard on Ceodore and often berates him, going as far as to smack him across the face for talking back to him, although he means this as a way to encourage Ceodore to become a true member of the Red Wings.

Both characters die early on in the game when their airship crashes after being attacked by monsters in an aerial attack. Ceodore survives the attack by Biggs covering him during the crash, leaving Ceodore as the only survivor of the Red Wings. Biggs issues his final order to Ceodore before passing away and tells him to return to Baron alive.

During the ending, Kain Highwind, the new leader of the Red Wings, gives Ceodore a quest: to rebuild the world after the destruction that was caused by the Creator. Biggs and Wedge's spirits appear during this scene briefly, telling Ceodore they would be dissapointed in him if he complained.
