As a part of their anniversary feature on Final Fantasy VII, Famitsu got down in an interview with character designer designer Tetsuya Nomura.
Within the interview Nomura reveals that they really would like to work on a remake for Final Fantasy VII, however they don't plan on doing that any time soon. Instead he plans to focus on making newer titles, trying to make ones that apparently match or even top off Final Fantasy VII.
Nomura also stated that he believes that producer Yoshinori Kitase is the true successor to the Final Fantasy series.
So with this bit of disheartening news, do you think we'll ever get to see a remake of the esteemed game in our time? Do you agree with Nomura's opinion of focusing on creating newer titles? And would you think it's possible for any of these newer titles to match or even outmatch Final Fantasy VII? Be sure to state your thoughts and feelings below.
And for the Final Fantasy XIII-2 DLC forecast, there will be some Snow and Lightning on the same day. Alright excuse the pun but it's true, the Snow and Lightning DLC scenarios (as well as the downloadable costumes) are going to be available on May 15.
The Snow scenario, titled “Arena of Eternity”, focuses on our dear Snow and his relationship with his bride-to-be Serah. In this episode, details regarding how he became a L'Cie again as well as the mysteries about the coliseum will be unveiled. During the second half of the scenario, you'll have to battle it out against the strongest opponent in the coliseum yet, Valfdor (also known as the Arbiter of Time). For more details and screenshots on this piece of DLC, click here.
Lightning's scenario, "Requiem of the Goddess", is said to be the last of the story DLC's and will provide some more information regarding the game's ending. It focuses on the epic clashing of Lightning versus Caius and features a different form of gameplay.
Besides these scenarios, there will be some new costumes available for download. Serah recieves a White Mage getup while Noel has a Black Mage themed costume. This time, our favorite piggy-kitty isn't left out; there will be one costume set available for Mog that includes 16 different costumes.
All of this seems to be the last bit from the Final Fantasy XIII-2 DLC campaign and will be available on May 15.
After what feels like ages, Tetsuya Nomura mentions some words on Final Fantasy Versus XIII in an interview with GameInformer. However, it may not be the words that you'd want to hear.
Although the interview was primarily about Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, GameInformer was able to sneak in a question, inquiring about Final Fantasy Versus XIII's progress. Nomura responded to the question with the following message: “We would like to ask for your patience on an official announcement for this title. It always takes time when tackling the challenge of doing something completely new, but we are doing our best to bring information to the fans as quickly as we can. Your patience is greatly appreciated.”
Believe it or not but next week marks the the sixth anniversary of Final Fantasy Versus XIII's announcement at E3 2006. So the question is, what's your response to Nomura's request? How long do you think it will take till this game awakes from its dormant state? Be sure to post your responses below. Also don't forget to answer this week's burning question that's related to the matter, will Square Enix announce Final Fantasy XV before Final Fantasy Versus XIII is released?
Thanks to Amazon.com, we get a chance to check out the North American box art for Theatrhythm Final Fantasy!

Also, Square Enix announced that by pre-ordering the game, you'll receive a gripped Nintendo 3DS stylus and 17 stickers to personalize it; the stickers include the main protagonist from each Final Fantasy as well as a Moogle, Chocobo, Chaos, and Cosmos.
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy is scheduled to release in North America July 3.
A short time ago we revealed we were interviewing Jason Marsden, the voice of Noel Kreiss, and asked you guys for some questions.
Well, good news! The interview went really well and we managed to get in quite a few of your questions. Lauren and Jason had a ton of fun and we hope that comes across with you guys.
Jason talks about what it was like to work with the other voice actors on the game, and what it was like to take on the role of Noel Kreiss, as well as some other roles in his career.
The next Final Fantasy Union podcast is just around the corner, so it's time for this week's Burning Question! I bet you've all be eagerly anticipating, haven't you?
In the last podcast, we ended up talking about the future of Final Fantasy, which lead to us posing the following question: Would you be happy with Square Enix outsourcing Final Fantasy to an external developer?
We think it's a pretty interesting question actually, as Square Enix has dabbled with this already. Obviously Kingdom Hearts is handled by h.a.n.d, and Double Helix were put in charge of Front Mission Evolved.
We're really excited to hear what you guys think about this. Sure, we have our own opinions, but yours are just as valid. Leave a response in the comments section and maybe we'll read it out on the show! :)
We've had a ton of interviews with the voice actors of Final Fantasy XIII-2 recently, but we aren't done yet. No, next up is an interview with Jason Marsden.
Marsden, who has voiced many characters in the past, has now jumped into the world of Final Fantasy by providing a voice for the likeable Noel Kreiss in Final Fantasy XIII-2.
If you have the time, we'd love it if you could post some questions for him in the comments section. Who knows, you might be lucky enough to have yours read out during the interview! :)
