Back in September, Square Enix announced that they'll be having an HD release of Final Fantasy X for the Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita without any additional details, such as if it's a remake or remaster of the original title.
Recently however, we've finally recieved a specification about the upcoming title. At the 2012 Taipei Game Show held in Taiwan, Square Enix producer Shinji Hashimoto confirmed that the game will not be a remake, but rather an HD remaster of Final Fantasy X.
Earlier in January, Square Enix producer Yoshinori Kitase revealed that the game was in the "early development" stage. Hopefully we'll be hearing more about Final Fantasy X HD soon.
New scans of Final Fantasy Versus XIII have surfaced from the latest issue of Dengeki. There isn't a lot of new material, but there's plenty of in-game shots and they look mighty good, regardless of the scans' quality.
Famitsu.com also released a set of direct feed screenshots of the game earlier last week, including two gameplay shots and two other CGI screens.
Famitsu have released the first set of direct feed screenshots from the recently unveiled Final Fantasy Versus XIII trailer. In it are cutscenes and a couple of interesting gameplay shots.
You can see the mysterious white cloak figure - who's had a wardrobe upgrade since we last saw him - pointing a firearm at Noctis' father. The gameplay shots show Noctis and gang fighting in a forested area and according to Famitsu as translated by Andriasang, Noctis will be accompanied in battle with up to two other party members.
In addition, Famitsu says that there will be plenty of battles that include giant mechs and tanks.
Today is the 27th of January and we all know what that means. Square Enix has officially released the trailers seen at their 1st Production Department Premiere event. Feel free to bask in the glorious direct feed trailers, all in HD, without worrying about Square Enix taking them down in the next three and half seconds.
The trailers for Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Final Fantasy Type-0 and Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance - you can view that trailer over at our sister site, Kingdom Hearts Union - are all up on the official website, as well as Square Enix's YouTube channel.
Each trailer showcases a ton of story segments, cutscenes, in-game events and, most importantly, gameplay.
See the trailers after the jump, go ahead, take that leap of faith.
Rejoice fellow rabid fans, new details regarding Final Fantasy Versus XIII, one of the two very elusive titles of Square Enix's Fabula Nova Crystallis project, has surfaced. The information comes from the latest issue of Dengeki Magazine.
Final Fantasy Versus XIII does not yet have an announced release date. It is still, for the moment, a PlayStation 3 exclusive.
It appears that Square Enix, or at least a third party in their stead, has registered a new domain name: finalfantasy13-2game.com.
Superannuation tweets that Corporation Service Company had recently registered the domain name. CSC have previously registered domain names for Square Enix on multiple occasions, including domains for Nier, Front Mission Evolved, Gun Loco and more recently, Mindjack.
It's safe to assume for the moment that Square Enix is behind the domain name registration, although it's anyone's guess whether they're just calling shotgun on the domain or if it means an actual sequel for Final Fantasy XIII.
Seeing as Final Fantasy Versus and Agito XIII have yet to set a release date in stone, it's hard to believe a sequel is in the pipeline and ready for announcement anytime soon.
Square Enix is hosting their First Production Department Premiere event later this month, perhaps it'll be announced then.
Good news for early adopters of Square Enix's latest foray into the MMO genre. Final Fantasy XIV's free 30 day trial period has been extended by an additional 30 days, making it a total of two whole months of free play.
Square Enix announced the news today as a way of saying thanks to the community for being so vocal and providing the team with the kind of feedback needed to improve the game.
"First of all, we would like to thank you for joining us in the realm of Eorzea, and hope you are enjoying your adventures.
"Since the official launch of service on September 30, 2010, we have received a wealth of constructive feedback from the FINAL FANTASY XIV community, and the development and management teams would like to take this opportunity to express their sincerest gratitude.
"Considering the nature of much of the feedback we received, however, and the current state of the game, we have decided to extend the free trial period for all users."
Users that register their accounts before October 25 23:59 PDT will be eligible for the extension, as will players with multiple accounts and players who have already received notification via email that the trial period is over.
Whoa nelly! Quick, better check out the leaked footage of Final Fantasy Versus and Agito XIII before Square Enix removes them from existence.
Nomura had previously confirmed the attendance of both titles; however, whatever trailers of them were to be a quick minute long mashup on display in the waiting area of their closed event. Nomura also reassured fans that they were looking into releasing the trailers on the web. When, you ask? Your guess is as good as mine.
