And for the Final Fantasy XIII-2 DLC forecast, there will be some Snow and Lightning on the same day. Alright excuse the pun but it's true, the Snow and Lightning DLC scenarios (as well as the downloadable costumes) are going to be available on May 15.
The Snow scenario, titled “Arena of Eternity”, focuses on our dear Snow and his relationship with his bride-to-be Serah. In this episode, details regarding how he became a L'Cie again as well as the mysteries about the coliseum will be unveiled. During the second half of the scenario, you'll have to battle it out against the strongest opponent in the coliseum yet, Valfdor (also known as the Arbiter of Time). For more details and screenshots on this piece of DLC, click here.
Lightning's scenario, "Requiem of the Goddess", is said to be the last of the story DLC's and will provide some more information regarding the game's ending. It focuses on the epic clashing of Lightning versus Caius and features a different form of gameplay.
Besides these scenarios, there will be some new costumes available for download. Serah recieves a White Mage getup while Noel has a Black Mage themed costume. This time, our favorite piggy-kitty isn't left out; there will be one costume set available for Mog that includes 16 different costumes.
All of this seems to be the last bit from the Final Fantasy XIII-2 DLC campaign and will be available on May 15.
Square Enix has detailed the upcoming DLC packs for Final Fantasy XIII-2.
It was rumored that the minor antagonist of Final Fantasy XIII, Jihl Nabaat, was going to make a comeback in the sequel as battle DLC. Now its official that you will indeed get the chance to face her in the coliseum, and not alone for that matter. During battle, Jihl has the ability to call in PSICOM soliders for reinforcements. Once defeated, she can join your party as a Saboteur. This DLC will be available on March 13.
Also coming right up on the upcoming DLC list is a Lightning scenario titled "Lightning's Story: Requiem for a Goddess." Not many details are unveiled yet other then that this story focuses on Lightning's battle against Caius, features a battle system that's different from the game's regular battle system, and that this episode will reveal the hidden truths behind the Final Fantasy XIII-2 ending. This scenario shall be released sometime in mid-may.
In the meantime, you can click here for a look at some of the other upcoming DLC, here for details on the recently released Sazh scenario "Heads or Tails", or you can check out our interview with Troy Baker and Laura Baily, the voices of Snow and Serah from Final Fantasy XIII-2.
Yup you've heard it here folks, Gilgamesh is planned to make a grand cameo in Final Fantasy XIII-2. This interdimensial rift wanderer from Final Fantasy V will be making his way to the coliseum, where he can battle it out against our heroes Serah and Noel. With enough luck, you may be able to obtain his crystal and add him to your party.
Also, there's a couple more battles that we can look forward to. There's going to be another guest appearance, who is a villian from Final Fantasy VI (word yet on who this villian is, although there's speculation that it'll either be Ultros or Kaiser Dragon). You'll also be able to battle it out against Jihl Nabaat, the minor antagonist from Final Fantasy XIII (you can check out a screenshot of her in the coliseum here.
There has been no word yet on when these DLC will be released, but you can satisfy yourself in the meantime with some of the DLC that's currently available, such as the Lightning and Amodar battle or the "Sazh: Heads or Tails" DLC. If you successfully complete this scenario, you can include him in your party as a synergist. More info about this scenario can be read here.

Just about a week before it's release in Japan, Square Enix releases a small TV commercial for Final Fantasy XIII-2.
The trailer itself is 15 seconds long and solely consists of cutscene footage, most of which we've already seen in the previous trailers with a couple of exceptions. In one still, Yeul is seen sitting on a sofa that was in the Narthex of Orphan's Cradle from Final Fantasy XIII. At the very end of the trailer Lightning, still in her Guardian Corps uniform, stands before Etro's shrine and sheds a tear.
What could all this mean? Seems like we'll have to wait till Final Fantasy XIII-2's release in Japan on December 15, in North America on January 31, and in Europe on February 3 to find out.
Back in September, Square Enix registered a domain name for Final Fantasy XIII-3. Fans cringed at the idea of another installment especially since Final Fantasy XIII-2, the sequel to its predecessor, wasn't even completed at the time. Now Square Enix makes a clarification regarding that move.
The topic was brought up on Square Enix's weekly radio broadcast by radio showhostess Asuka Nishi, who said that she would like to have a voice role in the rumored Final Fantasy XIII-3. Akio Ofuji, Square Enix's public relations agent, responded by saying that the registration of the domain name was merely a precaution taken by Square Enix's US office without Square Enix Japan's knowledge of the matter.
What are your thoughts on the matter? Relived that Final Fantasy XIII-3 may be nothing but a rumor or would you be interested to see a third installment? Not much time till Final Fantasy XIII-2's release in Japan on December 15.
