by Darryl

Nelson reviewed the game for GamingUnion.net and was pretty fair with his comments. It sounds like there are a few aspects that can be frustrating, but on the whole, it was still good fun.

GamingUnion.net Gets Hands-On Time With Four Heroes Of Light

DS by Darryl

E3 is over, and GamingUnion.net, our sister site, managed to spend quite a lot of time at the Square Enix booth. Unfortunately, there wasn't really much shown from the perspective of Final Fantasy, but some hands-on time with games was still possible.

First up is Final Fantasy: The Four Heroes Of Light, a new title coming out on the Nintendo DS. It's not too dissimilar from the Crystal Chronicles franchise, as it's possible to play it co-operative with three other players. It's been designed so that just as much fun can be had with the single player campaign though.

Final Fantasy Gaiden Development Team Unveiled

DS by Darryl

The Four Warriors of Light: Final Fantasy Gaiden was announced a short while ago, and it's in development for the Nintendo DS by Matrix Software. However, up until now, only a handful of the Square Enix development staff had been known.

The official website has now been updated, and it contains information on many more of the staff members. Akihiko Yoshida, of Final Fantasy XII fame, will be doing the character design for the title and he will be joined on the creative side by Naoshi Mizuta. Mizuta is well known for his extensive musical work on Square Enix's MMORPG, Final Fantasy XI. Takashi Tokita will be directing the game, and he has an extensive track record with Square Enix, working on titles such as Final Fantasy VII, Parasite Eve and Chrono Trigger.

It's good to see that Square Enix are taking this title very seriously, and it should reassure fans that this game is looking to be a full-blown title.

DS by Shawn

Four Warriors of Light: Final Fantasy Gaiden, Nintendo DS, Square Enix The game is entitled Four Warriors of Light: Final Fantasy Gaiden, which matches a trademark for Four Warriors of Light which Square Enix had previously trademarked. It will be a traditional role-playing game, telling the story of a young boy who sets out to rescue a princess.
