Final Fantasy XIII-2 Snow and Lightning Scenario Release Date

PS3X360 by Banaz

And for the Final Fantasy XIII-2 DLC forecast, there will be some Snow and Lightning on the same day. Alright excuse the pun but it's true, the Snow and Lightning DLC scenarios (as well as the downloadable costumes) are going to be available on May 15.

The Snow scenario, titled “Arena of Eternity”, focuses on our dear Snow and his relationship with his bride-to-be Serah. In this episode, details regarding how he became a L'Cie again as well as the mysteries about the coliseum will be unveiled. During the second half of the scenario, you'll have to battle it out against the strongest opponent in the coliseum yet, Valfdor (also known as the Arbiter of Time). For more details and screenshots on this piece of DLC, click here.

Lightning's scenario, "Requiem of the Goddess", is said to be the last of the story DLC's and will provide some more information regarding the game's ending. It focuses on the epic clashing of Lightning versus Caius and features a different form of gameplay.

Besides these scenarios, there will be some new costumes available for download. Serah recieves a White Mage getup while Noel has a Black Mage themed costume. This time, our favorite piggy-kitty isn't left out; there will be one costume set available for Mog that includes 16 different costumes.

All of this seems to be the last bit from the Final Fantasy XIII-2 DLC campaign and will be available on May 15.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 : Chocobo Racing, Casinos, and DLC Galore!

PS3X360 by Banaz

Final Fantasy XIII-2 producer Yoshinori Kitase revealed quite a bit at the Tokyo Game Show 2011 regarding the content that we can look forward to in the upcoming title.

One new addition to Final Fantasy XIII-2 is the inclusion of an amusement center full of mini games, much like Final Fantasy VII'S Golden Saucer. Among the new mini games is chocobo racing and a casino.

Also mentioned was post-release downloadable content. including costumes, weapons, and even monsters. Kitase assured fans that the content existant in the game is fulfilling enough but that the DLC will allow longer play and allow the player to play the game to an even greater depth.

There's some pre-release non-downloadable content to look forward to as well. Square Enix will be releasing in September a six-chapter story called "Final Fantasy XIII Lost Report." It basically looks back at the story of XIII but through the eyes of Rygdea and Yaag Rosch. The Lost Story report is planned only for Japan but we can always look forward to a fan-translation soon afterward.

Kitase and Toriyama Not Planning Any DLC For Final Fantasy XIII

FFXIII by Colin

Producer and director Yoshinori Kitase and Motomu Toriyama have come out yet again to speak about Final Fantasy XIII and its incoming downloadable content. Here's the catch, it's not coming.

The developer seems to be on a roller-coaster ride with regards to releasing any form of downloadable content for the game, originally stating that players are getting more than enough and any additional content could make up another game entirely. However, Kitase spoke on the topic again late last month saying that even though Square-Enix had doubts, they did indeed "prepare a DLC" pack. Following that is the recent interview with PlayStation Blog where the pair stated that Square-Enix currently has no plans for DLC.

"Regarding the DLC content, we feel that the final product is 100% enjoyableits the complete package. So were not planning any DLC at this time."

As for the supposed cut content, it was simply taken out of context. Apparently they meant that a lot of concept "ideas" were brought to the table, but not all of them made it into the final game.

So there you have it. There is currently no DLC planned for Final Fantasy XIII, which hits retailers on March 9.

Dissidia Downloadable Content A Possibility?

MusingsPSP by Darryl

Square Enix have announced that Dissidia: Final Fantasy will have a roster of only 20 characters, which will be comprised of two from each game in the series between Final Fantasy I and Final Fantasy X. Each game will only have one protagonist and one antagonist present, which could leave some fans feeling a little bit peeved, as some games had more than one solid candidate for inclusion.

It is well publicised that Square Enix initially wanted to put Seymour in as the Final Fantasy X villain, but had to put in Jecht due to his ties with Tidus. Had Seymour Guado been included, the presence of Yuna would have been required. But wouldn't it be great if they gave fans some degree of choice?
