I've been meaning to bring this feature back. Everyone seemed to enjoy it and now that time is being a bit friendlier with me, I can do just that! Cosplay of the Week is officially back and we're going to kick off with a bang.
This week's star is UrbanBallerinaEsq, aka Christina Rose from the United States, who recently cosplayed as Tifa Lockhart - and not just your regular Tifa, she's outdone herself with her Amano Tifa costume based on Yoshitaka Amano's original concept, as well as the bonus costume seen in Dissidia 012 [Duodecim] Final Fantasy...
Did you think I'd forgotten about our lovely cosplay feature? Well I did…not! We're a couple of days late but this should be a nice way to finish off the week. Last week we featured two amazing ladies that went the extra mile by sneaking into an abandoned factory in order to get the perfect setting for their Final Fantasy X-2 cosplay!
This week, the spotlight shines on a character from the more classic Final Fantasy titles. In fact, the cosplay of the week goes to Elisa, or Elsch, from Germany who does quite an amazing job cosplaying as Rydia of Mist from Final Fantasy IV.
We all know that cosplayers have some of the most insane sense of dedication. From slaving away from dawn to dusk on their next best costume to painstakingly concentrating on even the most minute of details on a prop, it really requires an impressive amount of patience and dedication.
Well, then what does that say about these two ladies that snuck into an abandoned warehouse just to get a suitable setting for their Final Fantasy X-2 cosplay photoshoot?
Eat your heart out fangirls, this week's cosplay feature proves that I'm not just browsing the web for good looking gals in Final Fantasy outfits (Okay, maybe I am). Anyway, back on topic. As usual, let's start off with who we've already showcased and they would be,
Yeah we're going to need a page for them cosplays eventually.
Genesis Rhapsados is the man of the week. Cosplayed by Otaru-Shirou, who has also cosplayed other characters including Squall from FFVIII and Riku from Kingdom Hearts II. Check out his killer cosplay after the jump, and more over at his deviantArt page. From the leather to the rapier and let's not forget his hair too, Otaru-Shirou makes a splendid Genesis.
Alrighty, it's time for our cosplay of the week! Just to remind everyone, we've featured two lovely ladies previously and they are Stella (Sheila), who cosplayed a nigh-identical Stella Nox Fleuret, and blacklash90 (Jorlene) as Oerba Yun Fang from Final Fantasy XIII.
This week, thanks to the recommendation of blacklash90, I'm pretty ecstatic to feature one of her best friends, Tachibana Shizuka. She also goes by the name of RainerTachibana over at deviantArt. Now I've seen her cosplays before and let me just say this, they are amazing. The one in particular that we are featuring is her Lightning cosplay.
Alrighty, how's it going everyone? It's Monday so it's time for yet another blog entry.
Not much to say here but things have been going pretty good lately. We've got a steady stream of news comin' out from Square Enix as well as a bunch of random community events like the Character Battle and Cosplay of the Week. That character battle should be starting up soon, so look forward to that, it's gonna be legen - wait for it - dary!
Yeah my bad, just had to do that. Kudos to you if you get the reference, maybe I'll draw something up for ya! Speaking of which, I do believe Astharis raised the question if I would be drawing anything for the character battle and, well, perhaps I will!
We're back again with yet another cosplay of the week! If you missed the last one, we featured the lovely blacklash90 who cosplayed as Oerba Yun Fang from Final Fantasy XIII. You can check out more of her cosplays over at her deviantArt page where she has since put up even more shots of herself as Fang.
This week we have a cosplay from Stella on the forums, also known as RinoaMao on deviantArt. She's done quite a wonderful job cosplaying as Stella Nox Fleuret from Final Fantasy Versus XIII. In fact, she's even recreated one of the iconic scenes from the trailer thanks to some really ingenious photography.
Hey everyone! It's been a while since I wrote on the staff blog but here I am! It's been pretty slow lately in regards to news, but that's Square Enix for you.
I'm going to talk about a little something that we kicked off last week. It worked out better than expected and is certainly something that could become a staple of our community. I'm talking about our Cosplay of the Week feature! We decided to start this simply because it's really something that has become part of the Final Fantasy fanbase and definitely something worth sharing.
Unlike other cosplay features, we don't plan on doing just a collection of photos, but instead focus on one cosplayer at a time, even give a shout out to those that made the cosplay possible like friends and photographers...
