We've had a bit of a news draught recently, but we're pleased to show off a brand new Play Arts figurine that's been shown off in Japan.
The figurine comes from Square Enix Japan's next big property, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII and showcases Lightning in some rather interesting armour.
First off, I want to apologise for changing up the Burning Question (it was meant to be about the Final Fantasy X teases), but a) this topic is far more applicable, and b) Final Fantasy X got an official reveal!
So, for this month's Burning Question, we want to know your thoughts about the huge news that came out of Square Enix. Yes, we want to know What do you think about the resignation of Yoichi Wada?
Congratulations everyone, the campaign we were taking part in earlier this year has paid off! Final Fantasy has again been recognised by the Classic FM Hall of Fame, rising this year to achieved 3rd position.
Last year, Aerith's Theme was placed 16th, so Final Fantasy coming 3rd this year is a massive achievement for the franchise, but also video game music in general.
Of course, this has led to some of the Classic FM snobs getting up on their high horse because it's not "real" classical music, and it's only there because of campaigns like this. However, without campaigns like this, the music would not be shown to a much larger audience.
Good news folks, the Final Fantasy X / Final Fantasy X-2 HD trailer has been released early on YouTube.
The trailer, which was planned for release tomorrow, shows off some rather limited HD footage of Final Fantasy X and is accompanied by German subtitles. Most of the footage is pre-rendered scenes of FMV cutscenes, with no actual gameplay offered, but that's ok.
There's also confirmation again that the collection will include Final Fantasy X-2, but no footage was shown for this.
Square Enix has been teasing Final Fantasy X HD for a little while now but today they have announced on the Square Enix Europe Blog that both Final Fantasy X and X-2 will be released in Europe this year as Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster.
Both titles will be released in their International versions for both the Playstation 3 and the Playstation Vita. For PS3 owners, both games will be on a single disc and for Vita owners, both games will be released separately.
There has been no details on the Final Fantasy X-2’s International content or if it is going to include Final Fantasy X-2: Last Mission as of yet. However Final Fantasy X’s International content is going to include new abilities, the ‘Expert’ Sphere Grid, Dark Aeons and the Penance superboss.
A trailer for the HD remaster has also been announced to be released on the blog for March 25th.
Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster is set to release this year on Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita.
People have been talking about this for a while now, "what if Final Fantasy Versus XIII is just re-branded as Final Fantasy XV?" And based on what happened recently, those people always had their "I told you so."
Roen, the company who were hired by Square Enix to work on the clothing in Final Fantasy Versus XIII had made a mistake on their website, replacing Versus XIII with Final Fantasy XV instead.
According to the company, this had been on the website since July 2012, but someone only noticed last week, leading to massive hysteria and speculation. However, a quick statement from the company cleared things up.
Wow, doesn't time fly? It seems like only yesterday that Spencer, Lauren and myself sat down to record Final Fantasy Union: Episode 77.
Well either way, Episode 78 is just around the corner and that means it's time for the next Burning Question. I know you're all excited!
So, for this week's episode we'd like you to answer the following question. With all of the PS4 buzz, we want to know your thoughts on the following: Do you think we'll end up seeing Final Fantasy Versus XIII on the PS4?
Hurray, news at last! Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII is going to be released via digital download at some point during its lifetime.
The information was revealed in a not-so-recent interview with Final Fantasy Network, when they spoke to Lighting Returns' director, Motomu Toriyama.
When asked whether Square Enix would be offering a digital download of the game, Toriyama gave a very short, sharp answer: "Yes, we do plan on releasing a digital download version."
